Nordhoff 17, Santa Paula 0--Isi Guzman rushed for 61 yards in 11 carries, including an eight-yard touchdown run that helped the Rangers (3-4) win a league opener at Santa Paula.

Nordhoff led, 3-0, at halftime on a second-quarter field goal by Matt Brown from 30 yards out.

Guzman’s scoring run early in the fourth quarter increased the Rangers’ lead to 10-0, and Nordhoff quarterback Brandon Titus tossed a 32-yard touchdown pass to Scott Drew later in the quarter.

Titus completed eight of 13 passes for 131 yards. Drew had six receptions for 109 yards.

Chad Metelak completed 13 of 16 passes for 100 yards for the Cardinals (2-5, 0-1), who never advanced further than the Ranger 16-yard line.
