Orlando H. Camacho; Camarillo Resident
Camarillo resident Orlando H. Camacho died Sunday following a short illness. He was 73.
Camacho was born Jan. 19, 1925, in Quito, Ecuador. He was educated in Ecuador before moving to Ventura County in 1964.
For more 20 years Camacho worked for United Insurance Co. of America, and for many years he managed the company’s branch office in Oxnard. He received several awards during his career before retiring in 1987, his family said.
In his free time, enjoyed golf, tennis and traveling. On Dec. 20, 1997, Camacho and his wife, Maria Mercedes, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
In addition to his wife, Camacho is survived by four sons, Alberto, Orlando Jr., Rodrigo and Cid; a daughter, Maria Mercedes Camacho; a brother; two sisters; and four grandchildren.
There will be a rosary at 8:15 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary Magdalen Chapel in Camarillo. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the same chapel with interment to follow at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park in Camarillo.
