37th Assembly District

Share

In the 37th Assembly race, we have three candidates running but two distinct choices: partisanship or independent leadership. While my opponents offer nothing but partisanship, I have focused on real issues and on bringing California together to solve real problems.

We need someone who will represent the people’s wishes on real election and campaign reform. California voters have continually passed term limits, the open primary and campaign finance reform at the ballot box. However, we wouldn’t need to take this action if we had legislators who would do that business for us.

We need someone in touch with the voters of Ventura County on growth. I have been an unconditional supporter of the SOAR initiatives. If the people want to be involved in important decisions about developing over our precious open space and farmland, the people should have that right.

We need someone willing to put partisanship aside and bring parents and teachers, educators and business leaders, Democrats and Republicans together on education. Our children have no time to waste.

Neither of my opponents is willing to advocate these ideas nor rise above their partisanship. They have offered nothing but silver bullet solutions and have continued to call the other candidate an extremist. I am tired of it and I believe the voters are tired of it.

Please vote on November 3.

MICHAEL FARRIS, Candidate, 37th Assembly District, Thousand Oaks
