Those With HIV May Qualify for Rent Aid

Applications for rental assistance for Orange County residents living with HIV and AIDS are available at local centers throughout the county.

Applicants who are approved will pay only 30% of their monthly household income toward rent. The Rental Assistance Program will pay the balance.

Residents must meet federal low-income guidelines, live in Orange County and be HIV-positive.

Applications are available at the Gay and Lesbian Community Service Center, 12832 Garden Grove Blvd., Garden Grove; Laguna Shanti, 401 Glenneyre St., Laguna Beach; the Delhi Community Center, 2002 N. Broadway, Santa Ana; and the Special Diseases Clinic of the Orange County Health Care Agency, 1725 W. 17th St., Santa Ana.

If there are more applicants than funding, a lottery will be used, as well as a waiting list. Information: (949) 253-1542.
