The North Valley Occupational-Pacoima Skills Center is offering two new classes for its fall semester, which starts Tuesday.

Adults who wish to broaden their skills or pursue a new career path can register for a new introductory computer programming course or a new class focused on landscape design for commercial businesses, said Claudia Wagner, a programs coordinator at the center.

The new classes are among more than 90 offered by the Sharp Avenue school, where students learn a variety of business, child care, aviation and automotive skills and industrial trades.

Individuals who never received a high school diploma can study for the high school graduate equivalency exam at the center as well.

Wagner said fall semester enrollment is heavy this year. “We’ve got waiting lists already, I would say, in over three-fourths of our classes,” she said.

For the fall, classes will start at 8 a.m., with the last classes of the day starting at 9:30 p.m. For more information, call (818) 365-9645.
