MOBILE, Ala. — Seven people, including an off-duty police officer, were shot early Monday as they left a party at a hotel. None was seriously wounded.
The shooting happened around 2:30 a.m., shortly after off-duty police officers who were providing security for the party asked several people to leave because of an altercation.
As people walked through the parking lot of the Holiday Inn, someone fired several shots from an approaching car, said police spokesman Davon Grey.
The injured were taken to nearby hospitals. Off-duty Mobile Police Officer Earl Adams was shot in the leg.
Police were looking for four young men who were seen fleeing the scene in a blue Oldsmobile Cutlass.
