Bonita High School to Get Skateboard Park

Bonita High School will be home to a new 11,000-square-foot skateboard park.
The La Verne City Council and the Bonita Unified School District have approved construction of the $130,000 facility at the high school’s northwest corner.
Since 1991, La Verne has outlawed skateboarding on sidewalks, walkways and parking lots in the city’s commercial neighborhoods.
The new park, scheduled for completion in February, will feature banks, ramps, slant rails, and flat rails, said city officials. It will replace a pole vault and long jump area. The park will be funded by revenues from Proposition A, the county bond measure passed in 1996 to pay for recreational facilities.
