Chess Club to Hold Fall Tournament

The La Habra Chess Club on Friday will hold its Fall Joust Chess Tourney.

The U.S. Chess Federation-rated tournament matches entrants by ability. The six-week tournament includes one round each Friday. A trophy or the cash equivalent will be awarded to the overall winner and to each player with superior performance.

Fees are $6, under age 18, $3. Chess sets and boards are provided. Chess Federation membership is required and may be obtained at the La Habra Chess Club.

The club meets in Veterans Memorial Hall, 209 E. Orange St., north of the library.
