Glossary

In-vitro fertilization (IVF) with intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is traditional in-vitro fertilization that is carried out by injecting a single sperm into an egg, then transferring the egg to the uterus.

Gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT) is when mature eggs and sperm are transferred to the Fallopian tube where fertilization can occur.

Zygote intrafallopian transfer (ZIFT) is when the fertilized egg is transferred to the Fallopian tube.

Host uterus is a surrogate mother.
