Not Even Bible of College Biz Can Resist a Lewinsky Article
As the bible of the collegiate industry, the Chronicle of Higher Education takes pride in publicizing every nuance in the education policy debates that unfurl in the nation’s capital.
And so it was only a matter of time that the Chronicle would unearth something from the Monica Lewinsky scandal that goes beyond Kenneth Starr’s daughter Carolyn joining Chelsea Clinton at Stanford.
“Starr Report: Lewinsky Advised Clinton on Educational Policy (We’re Not Joking),” reads the Chronicle’s headline.
Poring over the 445 pages of Starr’s report to Congress, the Chronicle found a reference that “Ms. Lewinsky also enclosed a note with her thoughts on education reform.” The note accompanied her “wish list” of jobs she hoped the president would help her land in New York.
Starr’s report offered no details. But the note is probably buried among the 3,183 pages released this week. Stay tuned.
