My Favorite Weekend

Melissa Joan Hart of ABC’s “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch,” which has its season premiere Friday.

Witch’s Brew: I like to go out for a drink on Friday nights. It’s nice to go sit in a bar and chat with my friends about something other than work. The Skybar is the only place I know about so far, but I don’t really like the atmosphere there. I want to find a place where you don’t have to dress up and you don’t have to put on a show. I actually want to build my own bar. I just got back from shooting a movie in Italy, where there is a place called Vineria, that I love. It is outdoors in a big square, and the beer and wine just keep coming. I could sit there for hours. I’d like to open a place like that.

Bowling Buddies: My friends and I go bowling a lot at Jerry’s Famous Deli on Ventura in Studio City. There is a Sportcenter inside where you can order food and drinks, or just sit and bowl. It’s great because we have some cast members who are under 21, and we can all hang out together there. After midnight, they turn on these black disco lights and it makes it more difficult to bowl. It’s fun.

Home Shopping: Saturday afternoons, I sit by the pool or go shopping for my house, which is pretty empty. (I recently moved to North Hollywood.) I takes me forever to buy furniture because I have to look at each piece about five times. I love new things that look old. True antiques scare me though, because you never know if they are rotted out inside or something.

Pooling Our Efforts: My boyfriend, James, and I usually have people over Saturday nights for a pool party. I turned 21 last April, and I got lots of alcohol for gifts. We are still working on it! We usually have two barbecues, one inside and one out. We like to get up and do things Sunday, so we don’t stay up too late. It’s not an all-night party or anything.

With the Girls: Sundays we have a girls brunch at the Inn of Seventh Rey or someone’s house and watch a movie. Recently, for one of my friend’s birthdays, we watched “Love Story,” and everyone bought a dish. That was fun. Most of my friends work on the show, because when I moved out here I didn’t know anyone. It’s the best crew in Hollywood.
