Mayor Marion Barry underwent a two-hour operation Thursday to remove scar tissue related to his 1995 surgery for prostate cancer, his doctor said. Dr. Michael Manyak said there was no evidence of any recurrence of prostate cancer.

Barry, 64, has undergone follow-up examinations every six months since the removal of cancerous polyps three years ago.
