Lawyer Sworn In as Judge for Superior Court
- Share via
Longtime civil attorney Henry J. Walsh was sworn in Friday as a Ventura County Superior Court judge at the Ventura County Hall of Justice.
Judge Steven Z. Perren administered the oath of office to Walsh, who was appointed by Gov. Pete Wilson on June 24. The appointment fills the gap created by the death of Judge Frederick A. Jones in February.
Walsh has 30 years experience as a civil attorney. As a partner with the law firm of Lawler, Bonham and Walsh, he specialized in civil litigation.
Local attorneys, who have been lobbying for more civil representation on the bench, have praised Walsh’s appointment.
He is the third Ventura County civil attorney to be handed a judicial appointment from Wilson.
