Workshop Planned for Entrepreneurs

Starting a small business is tough enough.

Keeping one afloat while turning a profit can be even harder.

In an effort to help small business owners in Los Angeles expand their businesses, the Valley Economic Development Center in Van Nuys will offer a free entrepreneurs workshop series in October.

“The entrepreneurs series has helped over 700 small-business owners bring their business to the next level in their business’ development and has created hundreds of income jobs in the city of Los Angeles,” said Paul O’Reilly, director of the Training and Work Force Division of VEDC.

The workshops organized by the nonprofit organization range from sales, strategy, marketing and staffing to operations and financial management.

The development center also offers one-on-one counseling by professional business consultants, and the formation of business advisory boards for each business owner.

The next entrepreneurs series starts Oct. 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the center office, 4717 Van Nuys Blvd., Van Nuys.

Because class size is limited to 30 business owners, organizers suggest those interested register as soon as possible by calling (818) 907-9977.
