9 Area Firms Among Region’s 50 Fastest-Growing Tech Companies

Nine Ventura County firms have made the top 50 list of fastest-growing technology companies in the greater Los Angeles area.

The list, compiled annually by Deloitte & Touche LLP, ranks companies in Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

“We commend these companies for their commitment to technology and for delivering on the promise of market longevity,” said Gary Dickey, a partner in Deloitte & Touche’s Los Angeles Technology Group. “Being named a Fast 50 winner is a testament to a company’s leadership and its ability to not only have the right solution at the right moment, but also to have the vision that allows growth over five years.”

To be considered for Fast 50 status, companies must either develop a form of technology, manufacture a technology-related product, be technology-intensive or use unique technology in problem-solving. The qualifying firms also must devote a great deal of effort to research and development of technology, have been in business for at least five years and have 1993 revenues of at least $50,000.

The top-ranking Ventura County company was EOS Corp. of Camarillo, which placed fourth on the list with revenue growth of 1,771% over the last five years.

Other Ventura County companies making the list were:

Eltron International of Simi Valley, sixth, with revenue growth of 1,514%.

Micro Pulse of Camarillo, ninth, with 1,414% growth.

Interlink Electronics of Camarillo, 26th, with 334% growth.

Vitesse Semiconductor Corp. of Camarillo, 29th, with 298% growth.

BioSource International of Camarillo, 34th, with 237% growth.

Semtech Corp. of Newbury Park, 41st, with 159% growth.

Xircom of Thousand Oaks, 45th, with 125% growth.

Power-One of Camarillo, 49th, with 80% growth.
