City Seeks Public’s Input on Improving Cable TV Service
City officials want the public’s recommendations on how local cable television service can be improved. A series of workshops will be held to discuss ideas to be incorporated into the city’s 15-year franchise renewal contract with its two cable providers--Century Cable and Avenue TV Cable.
The workshop schedule:
* Oct. 5, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., community councils and neighborhood groups will meet at the Senior Recreation Center, 420 E. Santa Clara St.
* Oct. 6, from 10 a.m. to noon, service and community groups will meet at Ventura City Hall’s community meeting room, 501 Poli St.
* Oct. 6, from 3 to 5 p.m., local businesses and business organizations will meet at Ventura City Hall’s community meeting room, 501 Poli St.
* Oct. 6, from 7 to 9 p.m., arts, cultural and heritage organizations will meet at Variety Theatre, 34 N. Palm St.
* Oct. 7, from noon to 2 p.m., human and social service organizations and agencies will meet at Ventura Family YMCA, 3670 Telegraph Road.
* Oct. 7, from 7 to 9 p.m., community councils and neighborhood groups will meet at Ventura Police and Fire Administration Building’s training room, 1425 Dowell Drive.
* Oct. 8, from 8 to 10 a.m., local government staff and officials will meet at Ventura City Hall’s community meeting room, 501 Poli St.
* Oct. 8, from 7 to 9 p.m., educators and people interested in educational issues will meet at the Technology Development Center’s Ron Halt Community Room, 5200 Valentine Road.
