Work on 4 Bridges Begins This Weekend
Repairs will begin this weekend on four of the city’s bridges: La Novia and Camino Capistrano bridges over San Juan Creek and the Rancho Viejo Road and Del Obispo Street bridges over Trabuco Creek.
City officials said an inspection by the California Department of Transportation, in accordance with National Bridge Inspection Standards, found the structures in need of deck and joint seal, as well as concrete deck repairs.
According to officials, much of the work will be performed at night to minimize traffic problems.
Only La Novia Bridge will be closed, from Saturday morning to Sunday at 11 a.m. Detours will be posted.
At the other bridges, one lane in each direction will remain open.
Repairs are expected to be completed by Oct. 11.
