Bridge Work to Shut Part of California 33
California 33 near Wheeler Gorge campground will be reduced to one lane for the next six months so Caltrans can replace a bridge.
Caltrans spokeswoman Jeanne Bonfilio said the work, which will begin Monday, is needed because the bridge is old.
One lane will be used for both northbound and southbound traffic. Flaggers will help direct vehicles during construction hours.
Caltrans officials say a delay of up to an hour could be experienced for traffic heading to Lockwood Valley and beyond.
Semi-trucks, trailers and recreational vehicles will be prohibited from traveling the road during construction.
