Expanded Air Service in Southland

American Airlines, which recently acquired Reno Air, is stepping up its presence in the Southland. On May 1, it begins a daily round trip between Orange County and San Jose, and another between San Jose and San Diego; and Reno begins Orange County-San Francisco service with five daily round trips. On June 1, American will begin its first nonstop Paris-LAX service, once a day. On Aug. 5, Southwest will begin daily nonstop round trips between Los Angeles and New Orleans (from $390) and between San Diego and Kansas City (from $320).
