Focus on Equal Pay
At the White House today, President Clinton and First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton will host a discussion on equal pay for women and possible changes to the Equal Pay Act. Also in Washington, the Independent Women’s Forum will hold a news conference to release the book “Women’s Figures: An Illustrated Guide to the Economic Progress of Women in America.” Randel Johnson, vice president for labor policy at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, will discuss “the wage gap myth” and his group’s fight against proposed changes to the Equal Pay Act.
