Monday Is Deadline for Property Taxes

Monday is the deadline for the second installment of this year’s Ventura County property taxes.

The treasurer-tax collector’s office asks taxpayers to mail the second installment payment stub with their check. Payments postmarked on or before Monday will be considered on time. A certificate of mailing is preferred and will be accepted as proof of timely submission.

State law imposes a 10% penalty for late payments.

Taxes can be paid in person at the treasurer-tax collector’s office, which is open weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. A payment drop box will be open until midnight Monday. The drop box is near the pay phone at the Telephone Road entrance of the Hall of Administration at the County Government Center in Ventura.
