Gov. Gray Davis appointed an Anaheim resident earlier this week to serve on the state’s Youthful Offender Parole Board, the paroling authority for juveniles sentenced to the state Youth Authority. Ute N. Watson, 57, was selected to serve a four-year term on the seven-member board, made up of correctional and law enforcement experts. The board oversees offenders’ parole status and suggests alternatives to help them get their lives back on track, said Terri Delgadillo, deputy secretary with the Youth and Adult Correctional Agency in Sacramento.

Watson has served as a parole agent for the Department of Corrections since 1983 and is a member of the California American Probation and Parole Assn., the Parole Agents’ Assn., and the American Probation and Parole Assn.
