On the Other Hand

Mark Swed admits to seeing things in his review of Murray Perahia’s recital at Royce Hall (“Perahia’s ‘Moonlight’ Casts a Spell of Imagination,” April 10).

However, he must have been hallucinating if he saw Perahia’s left hand playing the triplets in the “Moonlight” Sonata. The triplets are played in the right hand and the left hand has whole notes for most of the movement.

I’ll forgive Swed since he seemed to be so transported during this performance! (I’m a big fan of Perahia’s too).
