It’s unclear whether the union was inspired by the dark or light side of the Force, but “Star Wars” Lego pieces are now available in a galaxy near you.

Strangely enough, for more than two decades you could buy Yoda pajamas, but you couldn’t buy a “Star Wars” item made by one of the world’s most popular toy companies.

Apparently, the Emperor and the leader of the Rebel Alliance (you figure out which one George Lucas is) worked out their differences, and kids everywhere will no doubt be the better for it. Earlier this year, the Danish toy maker unveiled its extensive line of “Star Wars” products--in plenty of time for the much-anticipated summer release of “The Phantom Menace.”

In keeping with Lego tradition, the plastic figures are 2 inches high and, judging by their facial expressions, pretty happy. It’s only the evil Darth Vader who looks menacing with his black mask. Perhaps, though, there are tears underneath because he knows he dies in “Revenge of the Jedi.”
