Black History

Regarding Erin J. Aubry’s thoughtful “Canceling History in the Name of Racial Harmony” (Opinion, April 4), I have one suggestion. It seems so obvious to me that Black History Month should take place in January of each year and not February.

Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday is honored in January with memorial celebrations and often the closing of schools and public places. Then along comes the history month in February. It feels like we have two months of black history focus--and that indeed is too much.
