GARDEN GROVE

As part of Public Schools Week activities, 18 Garden Grove Unified intermediate school students have been honored for their classroom achievements by a local Masons lodge. The students, two from each of the district’s nine intermediate schools, were recognized by the Acacia Grove Lodge No. 351 at a recent awards ceremony. The honorees--who were chosen based on leadership, campus service, citizenship and academic excellence--are James Le and Alice Hy from Alamitos; Adam Leong and Karen Murphy from Bell; Eric Espino and Catvy Tran from Doig; Cesar Mota and Monique Keleman from Fitz; Thao Ta and Bindya Bhakta from Irvine; Sean Casella and Esther Balos from Jordan; Tony Gamez and Jessica Doles from McGarvin; Jacob Ailes and Cassandra Emenger from Ralston; and Scott Yensen and Chau Lieu from Walton.
