Diedrich Coffee Inc.: The Irvine coffee retailer, wholesaler and roaster reported a fiscal fourth-quarter net loss of $446,000, or 7 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $2.3 million, or 42 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue for the quarter ended Jan. 27 rose 9% to $6.2 million from $5.7 million.
For the year, the company posted a net loss of $2.6 million, or 43 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $9.1 million, or $1.69 a share, for the prior fiscal year. Revenue increased 5% to $24.2 million from $23 million.
The company attributed recent yearly net loss to higher general and administrative costs related to its growth strategy.
