If alterations are needed after you’ve made your selections, you can sit for a spell while the seamstresses work their magic. Such service.

Since Seymour manufactures on the premises to sell to retailers across the country, most items are sold to the public at 20% to 30% off retail.

In the Bargain Room, merchandise is as much as 60% off. Currently, there is a “buy one, get second at 50%” deal going.

Seymour also happens to make the best jeans I have found for the over-30 crowd. These no-zipper, no-snap jeans stretch, actually making you look thinner. They come in legging fit, straight-leg and boot cuts in 30 colors.

You can mix and match because designer Lauren Seymour coordinates when she creates these fashions. The trim on a shirt may match the fabric in a pair of jeans, or there’s a jacket, T-shirt or blouse of the same fabric.

Sizes run from extra small to large. Known in the ‘80s for their glitz, the designs have since been simplified and are sold undecorated as well as decorated in various fabrics--knits, French terries, eyelets and denims.

Because the customer has a say in the final results, I call this a “semi-custom” operation.

Weekend Supersale: Everyone’s gearing up for Mother’s Day and the outlet for Timmy Woods handbags is no exception.

Their Mother’s Day sale is on and includes straw handbags (that have hats to match) for $20 (retail is $60 to $80). Handmade wooden bags with carved flowers are 30% off, as are assorted leather bags. A number of slightly less-than-perfect items are tagged at 50% below retail.
