A team of officials from Southern California schools visited Westminster High School this week to evaluate its fitness for continued accreditation. The Western Assn. of Schools and Colleges sent eight teachers, administrators and students from other schools for the routine visit, from Sunday through Wednesday; a school must be accredited for its students to be admitted to college. Team members read a report the school produced about itself, spoke with teachers and students, and sent a student member of the team undercover to see how new students are treated. The team gave a positive report to school officials, Principal Kathy Miller said, but did not disclose its recommendation on accreditation. The association is expected to make its decision by the summer.
