Youth in the Arts Winners Named

* San Buenaventura Women’s Club has announced the winners of its Youth in the Arts show, which was exhibited at the group’s March meeting. On display were 81 pieces of art by students from 10 Ventura schools. The first-place winners:

Ian Ramsey, senior at Buenaventura High School; Maddy Hudson, fifth-grader at Pierpont Elementary School; Felisha McRedmond, fourth-grader at Montalvo Elementary School; Katie Cogburn, third-grader at Mound Elementary School; Lauren Cook, second-grader at Poinsettia Elementary School, and Courtney Gause, first-grader at Loma Vista Elementary School.

High School Senior Given Scholarship

* Daniel Kuhmann, a senior at Adolfo Camarillo High School, was awarded a $1,000 college scholarship from the California Coastal Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He was selected for his scholastic record, school and community activities, and recommendations. The society is a worldwide nonprofit organization that provides technical information to the petroleum industry.
