Friendly Condor Returned to Captivity
From Times Wire Reports
A California condor that has a penchant for people, even allowing someone to pick it up, has been returned to captivity. The unusual behavior alarmed overseers of a federal program who had released the giant bird to the wild in northern Arizona five months ago. “The lack of fear of humans put the condor in danger--a behavior that could have jeopardized other condors if he had taught them to approach humans,” said Shawn Farry, the condor field team leader of the Idaho-based Peregrine Fund.
