Panavision to Create Cameras for ‘Star Wars’
Panavision is joining the Force. Last week, the Woodland Hills motion picture camera maker announced that it is working with Lucasfilm Ltd. and the Sony Corp. to create digital motion picture cameras to shoot the next two films in the “Star Wars” saga. Panavision will make lenses for the new cameras, which director George Lucas has said may replace the conventional 35-millimeter format.
