Canyon 3, Santa Ana Valley 1--Canyon senior middle blocker Jeff Minhas led the Comanches in four games (15-6, 15-4, 10-15, 16-14). Mark Soberanis had 12 kills for Santa Ana Valley.

Orange 3, El Modena 0--Orange hitter Mike Garcia’s 22 kills led the Panthers in a three-game sweep, 19-17, 15-2, 15-13.

In the Sea View League:

No. 1 Corona del Mar 3, No. 6 Santa Margarita 1--Dennis Alshuler had 15 kills to lead visiting Corona del Mar (9-2, 6-1), which won, 15-9, 9-15, 15-6, 15-13.

Blake Robinson had 14 kills for Santa Margarita (8-7, 2-5).

No. 2 Newport Harbor 3, Woodbridge 0--Matt Jameson had six kills for Newport Harbor (14-1, 6-1), which won, 15-3, 15-10, 15-1.

No. 9 Irvine 3, El Toro 2--After dropping the first game, 14-16, Irvine won the next two, 15-12, 15-7. El Toro won the fourth game, 12-15, but the Vaqueros stormed back to win the fifth game, 15-3. B.J. Fell had 23 kills to lead Irvine (8-5, 4-3).
