GARDEN GROVE
The City Council recently agreed to support a bill sponsored by the Orange County Transportation Authority that would return property tax money in full to single-county transit districts. In 1992 and ‘93, the state shifted a significant portion of property tax money from cities, counties and special districts to the school districts, enabling the state to balance its budget by reducing its financial support to schools. Garden Grove has always been opposed to these shifts and is seeking to have the money returned. Information: (714) 741-5100.
