Ambassador to Britain Will Discuss Trade

Share

U.S. ambassador to Britain, Philip Lader, is scheduled to address local civic leaders today and offer an overview of trade relations between the United States and the European Union, which have been strained this year by punitive tariffs and embargoes. Lader, who assumed his diplomatic post two years ago, is scheduled to give his remarks at noon luncheon sponsored the Town Hall Los Angeles public issues forum at the Regal Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. With Europe restricting imports of U.S. bananas and beef and the United States collecting $311 million in retaliatory tariffs, Lader is expected to discuss efforts to ease the escalating dispute and how it could affect future U.S.-EU trade relations.
