The Planning Commission recently approved plans to remake the entire 500 block of North El Camino Real. City business owner Bob DeNault wants to demolish a car dealership, move the neighboring historic building to a vacant lot for restoration, and erect a 25,500-square-foot Spanish-style plaza. DeNault Plaza would house a 18,000-square-foot hardware store on the upper level and 8,000 square feet of shops on street level facing El Camino Real. Plans for the project still need to be approved by the City Council. Information: (949) 361-8200.
