Power Systems Ready for Y2K
The U.S. and Canadian power systems are ready for the year 2000, with over 99% of all systems repaired and tested, according to the final quarterly report of the North American Electric Reliability Council. The report, presented Tuesday to the Energy Department, found that most of the remaining work to deal with the computer glitch, also known as the millennium bug, is minor and would be completed before the end of the year.
