The City Council on Tuesday approved an ordinance establishing a 45-foot height limit on new structures in industrial zones. The 4-0 vote, with council member Chris Norby absent, follows protests raised last year by residents angered over a proposal to build a large flour mill in their neighborhood. The ordinance, if approved after its 30-day public comment period, will require a conditional use permit for any new building taller than 45 feet.
