* Viewlogic Systems Inc., a Marlborough, Mass.-based maker of software and services for advanced electronic systems, said it plans to acquire Camarillo-based Transcendent Design Technology. Terms were undisclosed. Transcendent is a provider of electromechanical design and consulting services.

* Central Financial Acceptance Corp., a Commerce-based specialized consumer finance company that primarily serves the financing and air travel needs of low-income immigrants, said second-quarter net income rose to $1.4 million, or 19 cents per share, compared with $1.2 million, or 16 cents, a year ago. Revenue rose to $12.8 million from $11.2 million.

* Santa Monica-based financial services company Fremont General Corp. reported second-quarter net income of $34.9 million, or 52 cents per share, compared with $32.6 million, or 51 cents, a year ago. Revenue rose to $336.1 million from $236.3 million.

* Woodland Hills-based Panavision Inc., a designer and maker of feature film camera systems, reported a second-quarter net loss of $7.7 million, or 96 cents per share, compared with a net loss of $56.6 million, or $3.57, a year ago. Revenue rose to $47.2 million from $46 million on increased sales of lighting rentals.

* Professional Bancorp Inc., the Santa Monica-based holding company for its wholly owned subsidiary First Professional Bank, reported second-quarter net income of 292,000, or 14 cents per share, compared with $224,000, or 13 cents, a year ago.

* Lebec-based Tejon Ranch Co. reported a second-quarter net operating loss of $575,000, or 5 cents per share, compared with a net loss of $943,000, or 7 cents, a year ago. Revenue fell to $6.7 million from $7.6 million. The company attributed the lower revenue to fewer cattle sales during the period.
