Interlink Awarded Patent for Wireless Technology

Interlink Electronics in Camarillo has been awarded a patent to protect its RemoteLink wireless communications technology.

The company said this is the first in what it expects to be a series of patents covering the technology.

The first product to incorporate RemoteLink is Interlink’s FreedomWriter PRO, a cordless pen that can be used as a PC input device. The RemoteLink technology allows FreedomWriter to offer wireless mouse pointing, document scrolling, slide annotation and pen-based text input, company officials said.

“Traditional wireless communication schemes, using either infrared or radio frequency carriers, are failing to meet the ever increasing needs of home and office environments,” said E. Michael Thoben III, chairman, CEO and president of Interlink. “It is our belief that RemoteLink technology will provide a clear answer to this problem.”
