L.A. Development

In reply to “Affluent Areas Lead Recovery in Real Estate,” Aug. 9:

Prices go up when demand rises and supply falls. In L.A. we’ve allowed developers to install cheap, crowded housing in our beautiful canyons, mountains and valleys, thus driving down property values and quality of life. It’s time to reverse that trend. Rather than bulldoze more open space in Agoura, the Verdugos, etc., let’s preserve and revitalize declining neighborhoods. Vital inner cities set in open space will make L.A. a better place to live.
