Actor Ted Danson is selling his Malibu home on a private street behind gates to actor Michael Madsen for about its asking price of $2.4 million.

Danson has owned the Cape Cod-style home since 1995, the year that he and Oscar-winning actress Mary Steenburgen were married. He hasn’t been using it, however, for some time. He and Steenburgen have a home in Brentwood, which they bought for about $3.5 million a month after they were married.

Built in 1976, the Malibu home has five bedrooms in about 3,400 square feet. The house has an open floor plan and an oceanfront master suite with a sauna. The house also has several decks.

Danson, who stars as a cantankerous Bronx doctor in the CBS sitcom “Becker,” starred with Steenburgen in the movie “Pontiac Moon” (1994), the sitcom “Ink” (1996-97) and the miniseries “Gulliver’s Travels” (1996). He made a cameo appearance in the movie “Saving Private Ryan” (1998).

The actor, 51, first gained fame in the popular NBC sitcom “Cheers” (1982-93), for which he won two Emmy Awards playing bar owner Sam Malone.

Madsen, 39, whose breakthrough role was as Mr. Blonde in Quentin Tarantino’s movie “Reservoir Dogs” (1992) before he co-starred in “Species” (1995) and “Species II” (1998), stars as the vigilante Mr. Chapel in the ABC drama series “Vengeance Unlimited.” He will appear in the movie “Good Graces,” expected to start shooting in L.A. later this month.

Sylvester Stallone, who has been in negotiations to write, direct and star in “Rocky VI,” is refurbishing and expanding the newly built 16,000-square-foot Beverly Hills-area home he bought in December for about $10 million.

Stallone, 53, stars in the upcoming movie “Detox.” He was the voice of Weaver in “Antz” (1998) and starred most recently in “Cop Land” (1997). In the fall, he will start filming on a new version of the 1971 British crime thriller “Get Carter.”

His new home, expected to be completed in about six months, already had five family bedrooms and two maid’s quarters, but Stallone is adding garages, a couple of new bedrooms and a free-standing library that is 30 feet square and 38 feet high. He is also converting a terrace into a gym and building a theater.

He is refinishing the exterior of the house in the style of an old Tuscan villa and is having vines painted on the breakfast-room walls to give it an outdoor feel. The pool and cabana are also being redesigned to provide greater privacy and shelter from the sun.

Stallone, who is orchestrating much of the work, has decided to make over the gilt-and-gold master bath, incorporating earth tones for a rustic, Tuscan look. The 900-square-foot bath will have copper sinks, a copper tub and two chandeliers.

Both Stallone and his wife, model Jennifer Flavin, will have offices with views of their newly planted forest of 300 trees.

The home, in a gated community, is on 3.5 acres with a 500-foot driveway.

The builders and project managers of his Beverly Hills-area home are Aleck Dugally and his son, Matt. They are also doing the interiors and landscaping.

Stallone also has a home in Florida, which has been on the market at $27.5 million.

Melanie Taylor Kent, one of the foremost serigraphic artists in the United States, and her husband, Robert, a Beverly Hills attorney who gave up his practice to manage her business, have listed their Westlake Village home at just less than $4 million.

Commissioned to draw the rededication ceremony of the Statue of Liberty, Kent, 50, has chronicled a number of events through her “Celebrate America” series of colorful animation-style serigraphs. She also was the first artist to portray Disney theme parks in limited-edition prints, and she created special serigraph images to commemorate Bugs Bunny’s 50th birthday and Mickey Mouse’s 60th birthday.

Her work has been collected by such celebrities as Liza Minnelli, Michael Jackson, Bill Cosby and Ronald Reagan.

The Kents listed their home because they want to move to smaller quarters in Malibu now that their children are grown. Their 12,000-square-foot Westlake home, on nearly two acres along the North Ranch Golf Course, was designed by the artist with the help of Disney designers.

Built in 1992, the house has been described as “country English Tudor in style with a bit of Fantasy Land.” The house has a cobblestone driveway that crosses a bridge over a moat to the front doors. The foyer has a 25-foot ceiling, limestone floors, a fountain and a skylight.

The den has a walk-in fireplace, pine floors and an English pub. The home also has a morning room, music room, library, artist’s studio, theater and game room. A pool is being built with a 50-foot water slide, waterfalls, spa, cave and a rafting channel.

Jeff Rosenblum and Michelle Carnahan of Fred Sands’ Agoura Hills and Westlake Village offices have the listing.

Marion Busia, female lead in the cult film “Gone in 60 Seconds” (1974), has listed her Rolling Hills home at $2.2 million. The movie is being remade under the same title with Angelina Jolie and Nicolas Cage in the lead roles.

H.B. “Toby” Halicki co-starred in, wrote, produced and directed the original movie. It has a 40-minute police chase scene in which 93 cars are destroyed. Halicki was 48 when he died in an auto accident in 1989.

Busia’s house has four bedrooms in about 4,100 square feet. It is on 1.5 acres with a pool. Busia, now an agent with Re/Max-Palos Verdes Realty, has the listing.
