FOUNTAIN VALLEY
The Orange County Water District was named a 1999 Groundwater Guardian National Partner by the National Groundwater Foundation, the district announced Aug. 4. The district joins the ranks of other such national partners as McDonald’s, DuPont Agricultural Products and Cargill Corp.
The district was honored for its support in producing a nationwide ground water protection public service announcement featuring Jan Schlichtmann, the attorney portrayed by John Travolta in the movie “A Civil Action,” for hosting the first mini-water festival at the 1998 Groundwater Guardian National Conference and for other achievements.
