LAKE FOREST
The City Council at its meeting tonight will decide whether to apply for a $672,000 federal grant to beautify street medians and shoulders.
The grant would pay for new landscaping on the Interstate 5 offramp at Lake Forest Drive, on a Portola Parkway median and along a section of El Toro Road.
The grant also would pay for a bike path on Glen Ranch Road and a new median on Rockfield Boulevard.
The city’s proposal would be judged against similar proposals from other cities by the Orange County Transportation Authority.
The council will meet at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 23161 Lake Center Drive.
