* Update--The Sparks, with home-court advantage in their one-game Western Conference playoff in the satchel after Friday night’s win over Houston, complete their regular season at Utah tonight. Utah is tied for last in the Western Conference, but the Starzz did beat Los Angeles on Aug. 5 at the Delta Center, 81-75. Natalie Williams, the former UCLA All-American, averages 18.7 points and 9.1 rebounds per game for Utah. Williams’ 7-foot-2 teammate, Margo Dydek, leads the league in blocked shots, averaging 2.58 per game. But Dydek recently was fined $300 by the league for criticizing officials after a game. Point guard Debbie Black, at 5-3 the smallest player in the WNBA, is third in the league in steals. Utah’s victory Friday at Phoenix was only its fourth in 12 meetings with the Mercury. In that game, Utah followed its recent pattern of rallying from deep deficits. Friday, the Starzz outscored the Mercury, 33-8, over the final 11:26.
