Westlake Village resident Robert Lee “Bob” Bohlke died Monday at UCLA Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was 64.

Bohlke was born Dec. 27, 1934, in Remsen, Iowa. He moved from Iowa to California in 1946 and was a longtime Westlake Village resident.

Bohlke owned and operated Village Unocal gas station in Westlake Village for 40 years. He was a member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was active in organizing the Knights’ annual Oktoberfest.

Bohlke is survived by his wife of 42 years, Eleanor Bohlke of Westlake Village; two sons, Clete Bohlke of Newbury Park and Dennis Bohlke of Thousand Oaks; a daughter, Maryann Bohlke of Valencia; 15 brothers and sisters and five grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel at Pierce Bros. Valley Oaks Mortuary in Westlake Village. A rosary will be recited at the chapel at 7 tonight.

A funeral is planned for 10 a.m. Friday at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Westlake Village with burial to follow at Pierce Bros. Valley Oaks Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions can be made in Bohlke’s name to the UCLA Medical Center.

All arrangements are being handled by Pierce Bros. Valley Oaks Mortuary in Westlake Village.
