City Council members said it would set a bad precedent to allow a disabled man to have a special parking space outside his San Marino Drive home. Resident Tom Bowen asked for the parking spot because other residents often park in front of his house, and his driveway doesn’t provide the flat, stable surface he needs to safety get in and out of his car. The Traffic and Transportation Commission supported Bowen’s request. But the City Council voted against him, noting that Bowen has other options, including cleaning out his two-car garage and using that for parking.
