Obituaries : Myrtle Hannah Bergeron; Longtime Mobile Home Park Manager

Former Ventura resident Myrtle Hannah Bergeron died in Burbank Friday following a short illness. She was 72.

Bergeron, former longtime manager of Buenaventura Mobile Home Park in Saticoy, was born Oct. 28, 1926, in Margaret River, Australia.

She moved with her husband to the United States in 1945 and lived with him in several cities during his military career.

In 1970, Bergeron and her husband moved to Ventura to manage the mobile home park. She stayed on the job for 20 years before moving to Tucson in 1990 to care for her terminally ill daughter.

After her daughter, Deborah Bergeron, died in 1991, Bergeron moved to Pensacola and then returned to Ventura in 1994. After her husband, Edward Louis Bergeron, died in 1996, Bergeron returned to Florida.

She was a longtime member of the Baptist church and attended services regularly in Florida. At the time of her death, she was visiting family in Burbank.

Bergeron’s family described her as witty, courageous and loving.

Bergeron is survived by her son, Terry Bergeron of Ventura; three daughters, Carol Allen of Australia, Jacqueline Stump of Burbank and Gail Leonard of Pensacola; nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

A viewing is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura. Services and burial are private.
