Northridge Women End UC Irvine Streak
Edniesha Curry scored 15 points and Keisha Harris 14 as Cal State Northridge defeated UC Irvine, 65-55, Saturday in women’s basketball at the Bren Center.
The Matadors (3-1) led, 27-24, at halftime, then opened the second half with a 17-5 run. Northridge’s Jamilah Jones scored seven of her 10 points during that seven-minute stretch.
A five-foot jumper by Irvine’s Chelsea Mackey cut the Matador lead to six, 48-42, with seven minutes left. But the Anteaters (4-2) got no closer.
The loss snapped a four-game winning steak for Irvine, which beat Oregon State, 68-46, Friday.
