Offenders at the Ventura youth correctional facility will donate $300 to Teen Challenge of Ventura, a nonprofit group that assists people with drug and alcohol addiction and family problems, corrections officials announced this week.
Members of the Key Club at the institution adopted Teen Challenge as one of the organizations it would support through donations and public service.
The inmates’ group will present a check to Teen Challenge staff Dec. 15. The facility houses 400 male and 338 female offenders sentenced by the courts to the California Youth Authority.
